Wine: 2013 “Midnight”
Blend: 35% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 20% Mourvedre, 15% Counoise, 10% Syrah
What used to be called MSG around the winery has been MSG, GMCC, and has now evolved to the the next GCMCS blend. In 2013 all the conditions were optimal. The grapes ripened perfectly and this balanced favorite is now going to be have palates around the world rejoicing! This Southern Rhone style blend is as good as ever. The bright vibrant raspberry Grenache, the meaty, earthy, complex Mourvedre, along with the strawberry and soft notes of Cinsault & Counoise, mixed with the high dark, high acid Syrah make this 225 case production quite delicious. Dedicated to the long harvest hours we work after midnight, it will charm you by the supple flavors and the win you over with the complex yet harmonious balance of which was aged for 18 months in over-sized (Puncheons) barrels. They only way it will disappoint you is in its production.
We saved an additional 58 cases just for those that can’t get enough. While we sold out very quickly in the Spring, we brought it back in the Fall–same vintage and everything! This is one of our most popular wines because the quality is so intense that we get hate mail asking when people can purchase more. This is probably a joke.
