Wine: 2011 “Midnight”
Blend: 58% Grenache, 37% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre
What used to be called MSG around the winery has been MSG, GMCC, and has now evolved to the classic GSM blend. In 2011 the Cinsault & Counoise didn’t quite ripen so we left it up to the Grenache, Syrah & Mourvedre to keep up the “Midnight” legacy. This Southern Rhone style blend is as good as ever. The bright vibrant raspberry Grenache, the meaty, earthy, complex Mourvedre, along with the strawberry & gamy Syrah make this 225 case production quite delicious. Dedicated to the long harvest hours we work after midnight, it will charm you by the supple flavors and the win you over with the complex yet harmonious balance of which was aged for 16 months in oversized (Puncheons) barrels. They only way it will disappoint you is in its production.
